It has been almost 37 years since Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr P.Ramlee, (PSM),(AMN), (DA) or his birth name, Teuku Zakaria Teuku Nyak Puteh had passed away. Even though the county’s legendary artist had passed away, it doesn’t mean that all his hard work and efforts ended at his last breath but it still lives on within the hearts of all fans. Therefore, with inspiration and appreciation from P.Ramlee’s works, XFM, AMP, Astro and 20 local indie musicians had teamed up for the sake of successfully releasing a project known as P.Ramlee: Satu Indiepretasi.

The original lyrics and the composition are kept the same, only that these local artists have rearranged the songs with modern elements as well as influences with their individual artist personalities so that it will catch the ear of today’s young listeners.

P. Ramlee’s songs have been unforgettable and not only favored by the veterans but also by youngsters and teenagers as well. Most of the artists had chosen the songs accordingly to their taste in music that was most suitable to them. The idol had actually opened doors for the indie music scene.

Yuna has taken the Malaysian music industry into her own hands since rising to fame 2 years ago. Her debut album ‘Decorate’, produced in both LA & KL, demonstrates Yuna's capabilities of composing songs that reflects styles of the eras gone by - simplistic sounding compositions with cleverly written lyrics gives a tropical folksy ballad feel, that makes Yuna stand-out from other singer-songwriters. This beautiful and modest trend-setter, provides an album that represents an artiste that is in cognizance with her elements of style and performance that is uniquely her own.
